Last year, Bouna Sarr was rated higher than Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting. Do you think I’m being too biased, or do you also see the unfairness in it? Let us know in the comments.
Why doesn’t Bayern get the same treatment?Īnyway, thank you for reading my little rant on Bayern’s latest FIFA mistreatment. It’s sad to see players from the Premier League get a boost just because they made a good run in Europe. Now, a sextuple later, nothing has changed. You only have to look as far back as last year to see how badly they were rated, considering they won a treble. Bayern players have historically been underrated in FIFA. Yes, his past season may not have been as good as his breakout in 19/20, but why wasn’t he rated higher then? We’ve seen from the likes of Kylian Mbappe that age doesn’t matter when it comes to ratings, so what robbed Davies of a possible 85, if not higher?Īs for the rest of the squad, we’ll have to wait and see how their ratings turn out, but don’t expect the likes of Marcel Sabitzer, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, or Jamal Musiala to be so highly rated, you’ll only be setting yourself up for disappointment. That said, an 86 physicality for Bayern’s resident Hulk could be seen as a bit too low.įinally, Alphonso Davies stays the same at 82, but again, he really should be rated higher, considering the fact that few will be able to name better left-backs currently in world football at the moment. Goretzka did make a bit of history though, becoming the first ever player to have stats of 80 or more in every category on a ‘gold’ player card. The same could be said for Leon Goretzka, who’s rated at 87, but perhaps that’s because he was injured a fair few times last season. Joshua Kimmich perhaps gets his deserved rating at a 89, although an argument could tentatively be made to push him into the 90s (again, hello, sextuple much?). Again, the man won a sextuple last season. I can guarantee you that if Müller played in the Premier League, his rating would shoot up. To think that Bayern’s best midfielder gets less than players like Bruno Fernandes, Kevin de Bruyne, Casemiro, and even Heungmin Son, is laughable. Yes, he had that big miss against England at the Euros, but if you start judging players by one mistake, I can start naming so many more that even Messi and Ronaldo made. One of the most influential players in Bayern’s squad, Müller had yet another outstanding campaign last season, becoming the top assister in the Bundesliga two years in a row. Now, if you’re a Bayern Munich fan, or if you just happen to watch Bayern games on a regular basis (so basically a Bayern fan), you’ll know that Müller’s presence and absence in Bayern’s attack has a massive impact on any game.
Believe it or not, that’s actually an upgrade on last year, when he was a 86. The most notable victim is probably Thomas Müller, who gets a measly 87. Once again, Bayern’s other outfield players are hilariously underrated. Now if that wasn’t enough to irk you, let’s travel further down the list of ratings. Moreover, Neuer has the same rating as Marc-Andre ter Stegen, his benchwarmer in the German national team. Neuer and Oblak actually went head-to-head last season in the Champions League, with Bayern’s captain getting a clean sheet while his opposite number conceded four unanswered goals. While no one can deny Oblak’s ability, the fact that he gets a higher rating than someone who literally won every trophy there is to win in club football might raise a few eyebrows. Despite his upgrade, Neuer is not the highest rated goalkeeper in the game, with that honor going to Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak. Now, let’s move onto the less bright spots. That said, one can only wonder why Neuer was only rated 89 last year after a treble-winning season. Neuer captained his side to a historic sextuple last season, and although his Euro 2020 campaign was a bit disappointing (or overachieving, considering the joke of a coach Germany had), his achievements fully merit his upgrade. Manuel Neuer also got an upgrade from a lowly 89 on FIFA 21 to 90 this time. Photo by Christophe Gateau/picture alliance via Getty Images EA Sports botched some of its ratings.again. The 92 rating means he gets one point more than FIFA 21, and naturally becomes Bayern’s highest rated player once again. Having broken record after record all year, it was only a matter of time before Lewandowski got the rating he deserved. Robert Lewandowski has had his great work recognized and became the second highest rated player in the game with a total of 92, just one point behind leader Lionel Messi. Of course, the ratings for some of Bayern Munich’s men are quite interesting, if not a tad disappointing.
FIFA 22 will soon be released, and the revealed player ratings have already sparked quite a bit of debate.
